How New Jersey geography shapes a group trip

Measured between the two furthest places we serve in New Jersey — Hackensack and Vineland — the state runs about 110 miles south-west. Groups planning across that distance usually end up choosing between a very long day and an overnight, and we will price both honestly.

Look at where our New Jersey markets fall on a map and Princeton is the knot: 24 other markets we cover are inside fifty miles of it. Density like that changes what an evening booking can include.

Taken together, the 27 New Jersey markets we can locate precisely account for around 451 square miles of land area.

We publish 27 New Jersey markets on this hub, 27 of them with a Census reference point precise enough to measure distance from. Those coordinates are what the nearest-market distances on every city page are computed against, and they come from the 2024 Gazetteer rather than from us.

What distinguishes the New Jersey markets we run

These are the New Jersey cities where our own notes carry the most specific detail. Each line is what actually differs about the work there.

  • Newark: requests here cluster around Prudential Center, and pickups run heaviest in Downtown Newark.
  • Princeton: requests here cluster around Princeton University, and pickups run heaviest in Downtown Princeton (Nassau Street).
  • Atlantic City: requests here cluster around Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, and pickups run heaviest in The Boardwalk.
  • Trenton: requests here cluster around CURE Insurance Arena, and airport work goes through TTN.
  • Piscataway: requests here cluster around SHI Stadium, and gameday traffic follows Rutgers Scarlet Knights (NCAA).
  • Hackensack: requests here cluster around Bogota Savings Bank Center, and airport work goes through EWR.
  • Jersey City: requests here cluster around Run Baby Run Arena, and airport work goes through EWR.
  • Paterson: requests here cluster around Hinchliffe Stadium, and airport work goes through EWR.

Airports we transfer from in New Jersey

Airport work is quoted differently from an hourly charter: commercial-vehicle access fees, the staging area a coach has to use, and the wait window if a flight slips are all named separately on the total rather than folded into an hourly rate.

  • EWRNamed in our notes for Bayonne, Clifton, East Orange, Elizabeth
  • ACYNamed in our notes for Vineland
  • PHLNamed in our notes for Camden
  • TTNNamed in our notes for Trenton

What should a New Jersey itinerary call out?

New Jersey does not allow left turns on many highways — instead, drivers use "jughandle" turns from the right lane. The NJ Turnpike and Garden State Parkway are heavily tolled. Party bus traffic to the Jersey Shore peaks on summer weekends.

New Jersey has the most diners of any state in the U.S. and is often called the "Diner Capital of the World." It is also the most densely populated state.

When New Jersey books up

The New Jersey calendar runs hardest in Summer shore season (Memorial Day–Labor Day) and Atlantic City year-round. If your date falls inside it, send the enquiry early: we would rather tell you in March what we can put on a June Saturday than tell you in May what we cannot. Rates here run at the higher end of our range, driven by what it costs to keep vehicles and chauffeurs available in this market rather than by what the trip itself involves.

Weather and alcohol rules we plan around

Humid subtropical in the south, humid continental in the north. Summers average 85°F; winters average 25°F in the north and 33°F at the shore. Nor'easters and occasional hurricanes can bring significant precipitation. The Jersey Shore moderates nearby temperatures.

Alcohol, open-container and service rules vary by county, and we plan the itinerary inside them. Ask us to spell out what applies to your run and we will put it in your contract. New Jersey restricts liquor licenses, making them scarce and valuable. Alcohol is primarily sold at dedicated liquor stores; limited grocery store sales. Bars serve until 2 AM (3 AM in Atlantic City). Party buses and limos are popular for shore trips and can serve alcohol to passengers 21+.
