How District of Columbia geography shapes a group trip
Our one District of Columbia market on this page sits a long way from the rest of the map: the closest place we publish outside District of Columbia is Arlington, about 5 straight-line miles from Washington. Everything we run in District of Columbia is therefore quoted as its own job, with the vehicle and the chauffeur committed to your date rather than shared across a regional circuit.
Washington has no other market we publish inside fifty miles. Work there is quoted as a dedicated run rather than as part of a circuit, and the vehicle is with you for the whole day rather than shuttling between towns.
The 1 District of Columbia places on this page cover roughly 61 square miles of land between them, according to the 2024 Census Gazetteer.
We publish 1 District of Columbia markets on this hub, 1 of them with a Census reference point precise enough to measure distance from. Those coordinates are what the nearest-market distances on every city page are computed against, and they come from the 2024 Gazetteer rather than from us.
What distinguishes the District of Columbia markets we run
These are the District of Columbia cities where our own notes carry the most specific detail. Each line is what actually differs about the work there.
- Washington: requests here cluster around Nationals Park, and pickups run heaviest in Georgetown.
Airports we transfer from in District of Columbia
Airport work is quoted differently from an hourly charter: commercial-vehicle access fees, the staging area a coach has to use, and the wait window if a flight slips are all named separately on the total rather than folded into an hourly rate.

What should a District of Columbia itinerary call out?
L'Enfant's 1791 plan gives DC diagonal avenues and traffic circles that confuse first-time drivers. Security perimeters around the White House, Capitol and National Mall move without notice, and commercial vehicles on National Park Service land need advance permits. Georgetown's narrow streets are unworkable for anything larger than a Sprinter; we stage on M Street or Wisconsin Avenue.
The Height of Buildings Act of 1910 caps most DC buildings by the width of the street they face, which is why the skyline stays low and the Capitol and Washington Monument dominate the view from almost anywhere.
Landmarks that show up on requests

When District of Columbia books up
Cherry blossom season (March–April), then September–November for conferences and fall weddings is when District of Columbia bookings stack up. Outside that window we have more of the fleet free, which usually means a better vehicle for the same money rather than the same vehicle for less. Rates here run at the higher end of our range, driven by what it costs to keep vehicles and chauffeurs available in this market rather than by what the trip itself involves.
Weather and alcohol rules we plan around
Humid subtropical climate. Summers are hot and humid with highs near 88°F; winters are mild with highs around 44°F and occasional snow. Cherry blossom peak is usually late March to early April.
Alcohol, open-container and service rules vary by county, and we plan the itinerary inside them. Ask us to spell out what applies to your run and we will put it in your contract. The DC Alcoholic Beverage and Cannabis Administration (ABCA) licenses alcohol sales. Open containers are prohibited in a motor vehicle on a public street under DC Code § 25-1001; whether passengers may drink aboard a chartered vehicle depends on the vehicle, the licence it operates under and the trip, so ask us for your date rather than assuming.
